How to Relax
"Within you, there is stillness and a sanctuary to which you can retreat at any time and be yourself" - Herman Hesse

Much of the time, we don't notice how our body is responding to stressful events such as the morning news, a traffic jam, minor hassles, or things people say to us. Tension can build up unnoticed, giving you tight muscles and headaches, and perhaps putting you on the edge of losing your temper.

Practice relaxation every day! You can learn to:

  • Calm yourself before and during previously stressful situations.
  • Solve Problems and gain confidence in dealing with them successfully .
  • Sleep more easily and restfully.
  • Enjoy more energy. You become more productive.
  • Perform better at sports or any activity. You can learn new things more quickly.
  • Reduce heart rate, blood pressure, muscle tension, migraines, headaches, asthma, etc...
  • Stop stress from building up
  • Lessen the power of panic attacks - just with simple practice of relaxation
  • Improve concentration and memory.

Once you believe that relaxation is important, you'll put a high priority on it and make the time to do it, just the same as exercise. No matter how busy you are, making the time to exercise and relax will allow you to be more efficient and feel better about your whole day. This is why it is so important to put them above almost anything else that isn't totally life-threatening.
